ZenPop started as simply an idea by a passionate group of interns at the young proxy sales service ZenMarket in 2016. Thanks to forward-thinking management, they got the greenlight to curate their very first boxes, containing Japanese Sweets, Ramen, Cosmetics & Stationery.

How are boxes curated?
Our procurement team starts by reaching out to a wide variety of manufacturers of various Japanese products. We’ve built a strong relationship with our local suppliers in Osaka and around the country to be able to handpick the best selection of treats from Japan.
Every month they acquire information on upcoming limited products, and even unreleased new items that even the average consumer in Japan has not seen yet!
Next, from all this information, they pick the most interesting and unique items and build a monthly theme around these items.
Once they have received samples of the items and decided that the items live up to our quality standards, a full order is placed, and the complete boxes will be assembled.
