Store Policies
Last updated: October 5, 2026
These policies apply to purchases, made-to-order products, custom production work, and related services provided through About That Life. Because many of our products are produced specifically for each order, some terms differ from a conventional retail store.
1. Orders and Payment
Orders are considered accepted after payment is successfully completed or, for custom projects, after the project scope, price, and payment terms have been agreed. We may contact you if additional information is required before production begins.
2. Made-to-Order and Custom Items
Many resin kits, printed models, scale-converted parts, prototypes, cosplay parts, props, and other production items are made specifically for the customer after an order or project is confirmed.
Made-to-order and custom items cannot be returned or refunded simply because the customer changes their mind after production has begun.
This does not affect our responsibility to review orders that arrive damaged, defective, materially different from the agreed specification, or incorrect due to our error.
3. Cancellations
If you need to cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible. Orders that have not entered production may be eligible for cancellation. Once material has been committed, printing has started, model preparation has been completed, or other custom work has begun, cancellation may no longer be possible or may be subject to charges for work already completed.
4. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Orders
If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, contact us promptly after delivery. Please include your order number, a description of the problem, and clear photos where appropriate.
We will review the issue and determine the appropriate resolution. Depending on the circumstances, this may include replacement parts, reprinting, repair, store credit, partial refund, or full refund.
Do not dispose of damaged packaging or affected parts until we have completed our review, as they may be needed to evaluate a shipping or production claim.
5. Fit, Finish, and Unpainted Production Parts
Unless a product listing or project agreement states otherwise, unpainted resin and FDM parts may require normal hobby preparation such as support cleanup, sanding, fitting, gap filling, priming, or minor adjustment before final assembly and finishing. These normal preparation requirements are not by themselves considered defects.
6. Customer-Supplied Files and Designs
When you provide a 3D model, image, design, reference, trademark, copyrighted work, or other material for printing or production, you confirm that you have the necessary rights or permission to use and provide that material for the requested work.
About That Life may decline work that we reasonably believe cannot be produced lawfully, safely, or within the agreed technical requirements.
7. Shipping Within Japan
Domestic shipping methods and charges are shown at checkout where available. Free domestic shipping may be offered when the order meets the current qualifying purchase threshold displayed on the website. Custom projects or unusually large shipments may require separate shipping arrangements.
8. International Shipping
We can serve customers outside Japan where shipping is available. International delivery times vary by destination, carrier, customs processing, package size, and service level.
Unless explicitly included in the order total, import duties, taxes, customs charges, brokerage fees, and similar destination-country charges are the responsibility of the recipient.
9. Production and Dispatch Timing
Production time depends on the type, size, quantity, complexity, and preparation requirements of the order. Made-to-order and custom production work may require more time than standard stocked products. Any estimated production or dispatch timing provided on a product page, quote, invoice, or project communication is an estimate rather than a guaranteed delivery date unless specifically agreed otherwise.
10. Delivery Problems
If tracking shows a delivery problem, loss, or significant shipping damage, contact us so we can review the shipment with the carrier where applicable. Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.
11. Project Quotes and Scope Changes
Custom project pricing is based on the information, files, dimensions, quantity, finish level, and production requirements available when the quote is prepared. If the scope changes after approval, additional work or materials may require a revised quote.
12. Digital Files
Unless a listing or agreement specifically states otherwise, purchases from About That Life are for physical products or production services. A physical product purchase does not automatically include the underlying STL, CAD, source model, production file, or other digital asset.
13. Refund Method
When a refund is approved, it will normally be issued to the original payment method where possible. Processing time after approval may depend on the payment provider or financial institution.
